In 2006, Insinkerator improved its hot water dispenser tank assembly to stainless steel, so no more cracks and no more odor issues. It's worth every penny, if you cook with hot water, drink hot chocolate or tea, make grits or oats for breakfast, or have greasy pans to soak. You'll find many more uses for it, like melting candle wax off of candle sticks. A great item for any kitchen, new or old.

Bad workmanship. I have owned 3 in the last 8 years and all have failed in the same manner--plastic tank cracks. i rate it junk.

I replaced our old dispenser with one of these. The water tastes too bad to drink. I contacted Insinkerator, and they said I must have bad water and need a filter. We have excellent water, and it wasn't bad-tasting with our previous dispenser.

I love my In-Sink Erator because I have hot water instantly. No filling the water kettle and waiting for the water to boil. I also save time by starting to boil potatoes or rice and other foods by using the hot water from my special tap. When my old erator (14 years old) had to be replaced, I immediately got on line to order a new one. Fixture Universe promptly shipped one arriving at my home in perfect condition. A plumber installed it and now I am happy to say I really enjoy having instant hot water again.
